Equipment
Rob plays a 1978 Rickenbacker 4001 bass through a 100 Watt MK11 Marshall Superbass head and a Marshall cab (2x12 and 1x15") rated at 300 watts. Bass distortion is achieved by turning the amp head up to 10 and turning a lot of the bass off just like Mr Kilmister!
Back up bass is a black 1982 Rickenbacker 4001.
Nigel Plant has a custom Ibanez blazer modified by taking a pick up out and not replacing it. Running therough a Marshall head and 4x12, Nigel similarly cranks the volume up, much to the annoyance of sound engineers - fuck 'em.
Dave has a nine piece drum kit (that never fits in the tour bus/van) and plenty of cymbals - what else do you need to know there?
PA rig is two Peavey 2600 amps driving Martin Audio Flares subs Martin Audio Blackline F15 mids.
Motorheadache has a lighting rig (but still trying to buy a scaled down 'bomber' if anyone has the expertise) and even a smoke machine to simulate Lemmy puffing on his Marlborough fags.
Rider for the gigs is a litre bottle of Jack Daniels poured into a pint glass with just a hint of coke (not pepsi) to sweeten the elixir. The rest of the band and roadcrew (well, mates like Tez and Chris) sup Newcastle Brown Ale and Motorheadache may seek a sponsorship deal from Scottish and Newcastle breweries (what a hint!).
